The Power of Positivity

Your future depends on your thoughts.

You may not realize it, but your thoughts and actions today impact your thoughts and actions tomorrow and down the road. Having a negative mindset or surrounding yourself with negative minds only brings you down.

Have you ever heard of the phrase “You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with?” 

That phrase alone inspired this post and my urge to share with you the profound impact of positivity in my life. We don’t realize the detrimental affect of negativity until we take a step back and evaluate ourselves from a bird’s eye view. Take a minute and ask yourself: Who are the 5 people I spend the most time with? Am I okay with being the average of those 5?  

When you evaluate these 5 people, think about their level of income. Think about their way of thinking. Their habits – Do they work out? Do they eat healthy? Are they smart with their money? Do they spend time on personal development and creating their best self? Chances are… you are probably quite similar to them when you step back and evaluate these things.

Kinda crazy, right? 

If you know me, you know I always have a smile on my face and can laugh about pretty much anything. I always used to think I was a super positive person until I did some evaluating myself over the past couple of years. I really stepped back and realized who was in my inner circle. It was an average and negative group of people and I needed to do something about it. I was not on this planet to live a mediocre life.

It was then that I discovered the Law of Attraction. Under this theory, outcomes in your life are a result of your thoughts and actions, whether they be positive or negative. Think that you can’t do something? You won’t do it. Think you can make that something your bitch? You will. It’s simple, but it’s amazing what happens when you rid your life of negativity and only let in the positive. When you’re mindset is negative, that negativity releases poisons into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is of no help to your happiness or success for that matter.

It seems almost too simple, right?

The day I started removing the toxic people and things from my life, my life changed drastically. Things started to go right, I found a group of positive people I value dearly to this day, bad things stopped happening to me. It felt as though everything was falling into place and everything I wished for landed on my lap.

Do yourself a favor. For the next 30 days, become conscious of the negativity in your life and catch those negative thoughts before you let the words come out of your mouth. You will be astonished at the results.

Just by sticking to this theory, catching myself whenever a negative thought is near, or letting things go has changed my life for the better. I am now happier, more confident, and find that in return, the world treats me better.

If you take one thing away from this blog post, it’s this: Choose your tribe of 5 as though your future depended on it. 

And a second takeaway: Live only with good vibes.
